A female large alder sawfly (Cimbex connatus) resting and drying up on my son's finger in the Mjällådalen nature reserve, about 38 km (~24 miles) northwest of Härnösand, Sweden after we rescued it from a backwater in the river.

A shot of a male beautiful demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo) at the Stenbäcken creek at Åva-Stensjödal in Tyresta National Park, just south of Stockholm, Sweden.

This one was fluttering around over the creek, trying to chase away other males from "his" territory and decided the diffuser on my camera was a great place to land for a little break (the white is part of my flash diffuser which is covered in white plastic film).

Caterpillars are quite literally butterfly babies. And just like human babies they mostly eat and poop. Here are two 4th instar common yellow swallowtail caterpillars (Papilio machaon) doing just that on a purple angelica (Angelica gigas). Plus sume nudging.

Here is a short clip of a brown chafer beetle (Serica brunnea) outside my window and how it feigns dying when disturbed.

In this clip, I managed to actually touch it before it reacted, but most of the time they seem to do this well before I have gotten close enough with the camera.
