6am and this was our first morning at Kiev before breakfast and meeting the bus. A seriously red glowing sunrise but minimal cloud cover to start the day but it did pick up during the day to reveal drama.

Part of the Chernobyl and Pripyat trip to the Ukraine - visited in October 2012 with Dai (Wiffsmith23)

Unfortunately, the best angle there was due to a concert being played underneath it. Same goes for Independence Square which had 200 feet of scaffolding around it so no photos were taken.

Last day in Kiev and sunrise was rain and it continued to pour down for the entire day up til 4pm flight time. We came out of our apartment which was in a block with some unusual doors and staircases. Very antiquated and old Soviet Union.

Got some strange stares from the neighbours as the block of 24 apartments were not all holiday rented.

This is the Church of St. Nicholas that is on the Dniper River. Our usual walk to this spot from the apartment leaving early and ready to catch the sunrise.
