When I see these rock sculptures craftily balanced on the beach I can't help but think of the scenario of Easter Island, whereby the supposed inhabitants depleted every single tree as their main energy source and in doing so went past the point of no return and brought about their own extinction. So I'm considering that the nature of modern society is well beyond the point of being thrown back to an archaic state of energy resourceless survival... or are we?
