First outing of the year as weather around these parts has been atrocious and I was anxious to see how the Short Eared Owls had been surviving, well they were really active and it was great seeing still so many of them around. This bird seemed fairly comfortable with me advancing slowly but surely and just as I was considering another few yards closer unfortunately 2 more photographers appeared and came a little bit to quickly towards us,nevermind more than happy with this shot.

Going through some old folders and found this unedited image from my first ever visit to Yellowstone National Park in 2007 of a Gray Jay.

Made my first trip out of 2015 with 2 of my mates and we encountered some awful conditions...mainly on the drive there and back! Aswell as some white out/blizzard conditions in the hills searching for Mountain Hares! Found a couple that sat long enough for us to get some shots off but in general they were very flighty during our time with them, although we saw plenty of them about aswell as a couple of Golden Eagles.
