Over Egypt, I was looking for the Pyramids. I have not found them yet, but I got pretty detailed shots of Cairo. It is quite hard to spot small (well seen from space) things from 400 km above while travelling at 28 800 km/h. It is a fun pastime in the evening and on a lunchbreak.

J’ai eu beau chercher à plusieurs reprises en survolant l’Égypte, je n’ai pas encore trouvé les pyramides… Par contre, j’ai maintenant de clichés très nets du Caire ! Mais je n’abandonne pas ma quête pour autant…

A few better pictures of the pyramids! The Wall of China can’t be seen from space with the naked eye.. nor can the pyramids, but I did find them using my camera zoom! Not easy to spot “small” structures with low contrast: no the Wall of China can’t be seen from space… and no chance for the pyramids with the naked eye, but after a few tries I found them with my camera! Thanks for the new challenges everyone, will look for these new targets.

Encore les pyramides, avec de meilleures photos que la dernière fois ! À propos, tout comme la Grande Muraille de Chine, elles ne sont pas visibles à l’œil nu depuis l’espace à cause du manque de contraste, d’autant que ces structures sont finalement relativement petites ou fines, comparées à un volcan, par exemple. Un mythe s’effondre ! ;) En revanche, j’ai pu les photographier avec le zoom très puissant de nos appareils photo. Merci pour vos suggestions : je vais tâcher de prendre photos de nouvelles cibles.
