I found this beautiful moth while out looking for Butterflies today. I have never seen one before. I thought it might be a species of Tiger Moth. I got the identification from searching Tiger Moths of Alberta. They are a beautiful family of Moths.

Elk Island National Park, Alberta.

This Gyrfalcon was hunting ducks on the open water at the Keephills Generating Station. It is a distant shot, but I like the look of it speeding through this environment.

While not evident in this image, juvenile Gyrfalcons have a blue-gray beak and legs. The beak and legs of an adult are bright yellow.

Parkland County, Alberta.
