The tower is illuminated, so it was decided to do the first big peal after dark. This is what the tower looked like about an hour before the bells were first rung.

Everyone crowded into the alley between the cathedral and the Georgia Medical Dental building to watch as the lights came on, and the bells began to ring.

The bells are actually quite big, with the smallest (top of the tower) being about 4 feet high. This is the third of the the four, and is, I think, a good 6 feet high. Slight blur in the shot as it was hard to balance shutter speed in ISO.

A peal of bells

And here is a full peal, all four bells swinging away like mad, booming out. As you can see, the lights are now a little brighter. I will shoot the opposite side of the tower, which features unique stained glass panels, on another evening, using my tripod.
