I've been really trying to get one of these shots perfected. These are some difficult shots to handhold. Subways have really dim lightning and tripods are not allowed. If only photographers ruled the world. >=] Getting the exposure is a compromise of mid ISO, mid aperture and a slow shutter speed, without Image stabilization. I think the results are improving though but there is still room for improvement.

I've walked by this spot so many times, always on route to get a shot from some other place, without thinking of taking a shot from this viewpoint. The difference was, today, near still water today made for some beautiful reflections that really transformed this scene.
