Wildflower photographed along the Tieton River, Yakima County, Washington. Both the common and scientific names have been changed. I used the old common name. The new name is butterfly biscuit root.

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary
Southwest Florida
USA

The hawk was very close to me concentrating on finding a fish in one of the low pools of water remaining at Corkscrew. It was perched in a tree with lots of branches. I was photographing the bird which was just off the boardwalk looking the other way.

A second image of the hawk is in the first comment section.

The red-shouldered hawk (Buteo lineatus) is a medium-sized hawk. Its breeding range spans eastern North America and along the coast of California and northern to northeastern-central Mexico. Red-shouldered hawks are permanent residents throughout most of their range, though northern birds do migrate, mostly to central Mexico. The main conservation threat to the widespread species is deforestation. – Wikipedia
