My first-ever view of a juvenile Scaly-breasted Munia. These gorgeous finches are one of my favorite bird sightings-- exotics now naturalized in California. I don't see them too often. But, yesterday evening, two adults stopped at a local feeder (Watsonville) with seven juveniles in tow. Given the begging behavior (pictured here) I'm assuming this big brood of babies belongs to them entirely.
