A fun but rather tricky KAP session at the Paleaku Gardens Peace Sanctuary. The goal was to KAP the "Galaxy Garden " imagined by artist Jon Lomberg The Galaxy Garden is a 100-foot diameter outdoor scale model of the Milky Way, mapped in living plants and flowers and based on current astrophysical data. The scale is 1000 light years per foot, which is about 83 light years per inch. The Galaxy Garden is set on 1/4 acre of lawn, whose gentle swell suggests the observed warp of the actual galactic disk.
Jon happened to be on the Island and gave us a private tour of his creation. He was also very much interested to get some aerial shots of "his" galaxy. A Great piece of art to KAP.
