I missed the Victoria Day fireworks here at home, but I found some of a different sort in the Dominican. These are of course coconut trees. This was taken at Samana bay, looking out at a cruise ship that was docked for the day.

This is the famed Bridge to Nowhere in Samana, Dominican Republic.

It was built to go out to an island, but the hoped for restaurant/cafe on the island never happened, and so now the bridge just goes to this island, about 1km out from the mainland and just ends there. Really nice views from this bridge though. Glad I walked out on it, I dont think its going to last many more years..

Midway along the Bridge to Nowhere in Samana, Dominican Republic this young man came running up from behind us. He was eying up spots to catch Starfish. He was running at a good clip along the edge and the water below wasn't very deep (you could see the bottom easily).
