Further along my walk I came across an old rusted swing set in the park on Wards Island, a short ferry ride away from downtown Toronto. I waited around in the snow for the sun to come out from behind the clouds.

This is the long beach at Wards Island. It was really windy and i was determined to get to the end of this beach where there was a breakwater of rocks covered in icicles. I stopped halfway to capture the moment.

I ventured over to the island on Sunday. The -12c cold wasn't too bad, it was the 60 km/h wind that was brutal. It was worth it though, I'll be posting some of the scenes I found over the next couple of days.
This was taken at the coldest, windiest point of my trip. It was taken from Algonquin Island. The water splashes up on the trees and instantly freezes a thin layer. Over time this layer builds up into these formations.
I for one welcome our new ice creature overlords.

This is one of my favorite views of the city, from the shores of the long pond on Wards Island.
