Taken in failing light one evening last August. Pleasantly surprised the focus stack came out as well as it did. This little chap would not sit still!
Thanks for looking,

A red admiral butterfly, taken a few weeks ago. There have been loads of these around this year. This one I found in the garden, alive but clearly on its last legs, as it didn't fly away as I approached.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the feedback on my previous upload of this harvestman. Here's the obligatory extreme close up.
Where I'm from, a "daddy long legs" is a crane fly, not a spindly spider or a harvestman with long legs, like this. What does a "daddy long legs" mean to you?
Focus stack of a harvestman, taken in natural light, August 2022. Thanks for looking.

A harvestman I found amongst long grass. Why such absurdly long (and stripy) legs should ever evolve is beyond me, but I think they're marvellous all the same. Now, before you tell me it's a shame the ends of the legs are cropped off, if I had included *all* the legs you probably wouldn't be able to tell what this is, as it would be so small in the frame. They were very very long legs.
Taken in August 2022 somewhere in Dorset.
Thanks for looking.
