I'm standing in two different decades, with almost seventy years between them as I watch a Locomotive (that no longer exists) numbered 43155, an Ivatt Class 4MT haul it's train of mixed freight up the gradient towards one of the highest points in Norfolk (steady!) and towards Melton Constable, once regarded as the Crewe of Norfolk. For once, there was nobody about to wonder why there was a man taking a photograph of two slightly raised lines of grass bordering a field of rapeseed on a grey Wednesday afternoon. I'm stood just to the west of the Swanton Road Crossing cottage close to the B1354, looking down towards
Thursford.
