"The Avians are investigating the river levels that keep going up and driving water into my bathtub," Kenneth told me. "In 1692 Columbus sank a submarine out there, and ever since the water level has been rising."

"That could be dangerous," I replied as I continued to photograph the sunrise over the river. The wandering man introduced himself as Kenneth, high priest and philosopher of the Iractic Temple of Nobles. He continued to babble about the heat, CO2, global warming, and a conspiracy between George Lucas and Al Gore.

Finally, I asked to take his photograph. He agreed if I would publish his revelations and prophecies. I released my camera from its tripod, and took a few shots before he walked across the railroad trestle spanning the river.

The end of the world will come when the Avians try to raise the submarine. The CO2 inside will be released and suffocate all creatures. Only the plants will survive. The human race faces extinction if we are unable to survive on CO2 rather than oxygen. I promised to pass that along.

Thank you, Kenneth, for being my twenty-second stranger. You were indeed strange. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the flickr group page.

A boy watched shyly as I photographed a model in a hotel lobby. He was alone, and I began to wonder if he was lost. I asked him his name. "Tristen," he replied.

He asked me if I would take his picture. I asked if his mother was around. His mother was the manager of the hotel who gave me permission to photograph in the the lobby. She granted permission to photograph Tristen as well, so I took several shots of him for her.

I like this one the best. Tristen's awkward pose in the empty space of the lobby tells of his loneliness and shyness. Thank you Tristen, for being Stranger number fifty-nine. I bet you never thought you would be a stranger! Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the flickr group page.
