When I was a boy, I rode bicyles along the railroad with my friends, we would put pennies on the rails when we heard the Rock Island locomotive approaching. Afterwards we would search for our smashed copper discs among the sharp grey ballast. Today, when I ride a bicycle, I am transported back to those times.
