After three days of soaking rain and seeing lots of flooded spaces in our area it was nice to spend some time in the woods this afternoon...looking up at the blue sky, bright sunshine and trees that are leafing out.
I added one bird to my growing list this afternoon, an American Redstart, but didn't manage pix worth posting of it...can't complain about seeing 92 bird species in eight months, though.
I also paid a visit to the eagles' nest but the youngster wasn't sitting up high enough for pix. Next time I'll get him/her. :)
SOOC.

Here's what the Redstart looks like...I saw a handsome male:

An American Robin was singing loudly from a beautiful Larch tree on this sunny morning.

On my way out of the woods this morning I popped out of the car to get some tree pix and heard the loud call of this handsome Scarlet Tanager.
Tricky lighting in the shade of the leaves, but I shot the heck out of this bird anyway. :)
It's our 95th species at this location.
Before I got this guy I also added two more life birds to my list, a Chestnut-sided Warbler and a Canada Warbler...didn't get post-worthy pix of them, though.
SOOC.
