One of the entries to what was a Gaumont theatre/cinema from 1929. It passed thru a number of hands until closing as a cinema in 1969.
Originally the building opened as The Palace Theatre of Varieties on 31st August 1908. As its name implies this was variety theatre, a type of entertainment which followed on from the music hall tradition . After closure in 1969 it become a bingo hall which lasted until 1996. It is currently used by the Power Praise and Deliverance Worship Centre.
