One of the classic views of Havasu Falls taken from the trail leading down to the camping area just past the falls to the left.
I took this shot shortly after sunrise at 7:00 in the morning. At pretty much any other time of day there would be 50 people in the frame. Did I mention that Havasu Falls is very crowded, even in Late October! Of course the benefit to this is that there was a taco stand run by members the Supai Indian Tribe along the trail just to the right of this view. Glamping at its finest!

Here is the view from near the start of the Havasu Falls trail looking north up the Hualapai Canyon. The trail from the Haulapai Hilltop trailhead descends into the canyon becoming more and more narrow as you progress towards the Supai Indian village and the falls. The camping area at the falls is around 10 miles one way with 2,700 feet of elevation loss (gain on the way back). This was a sunny and pleasant hike in late October but I could imagine it being brutally hot in the middle of summer. Access to the trail and falls is strictly controlled by the Supai Indians, you'll need to get a permit beforehand.

Got this shot perched on the edge of the big travertine pool at Beaver Falls. The travertine lips at the edges of the pools slowly build up over time as minerals build up from the water. This shot was a little precarious because there was a fifteen foot drop behind me down to the base of the last waterfall. Bring some grippy water shoes if you want to try to get out here.

The trail below Mooney Falls along Havasu Creek had dozens of small cascades like these. The high mineral content of the water causes travertine to build up and create pretty overlapping pools, its also responsible for the brilliant blue color. The trail meanders deeper down into the canyon and crosses over Havasu Creek several times before reaching Beaver Falls and eventually the Grand Canyon. Being late Oct the water was very cold but I was still able to spend a few moments to setup my tripod and grab these shots before my feet froze.
