Threading its way through chanel markers beneath a beautiful sunset, a sailboat under power heads out into Charlotte Harbor, beyond which lies the Gulf of Mexico. This was shot over the Thanksgiving holiday from the Ponce De Leon Beach, where the Peace River Wildlife Center is located (and where a ton of No-Seeums delighted in my presence).

I photographed the Little Blue Heron, shown here stalking the shoreline hunting for prey, during the same photo shoot. A pair of seagulls slip quietly through the air over Charlotte Harbor the onset of a beautiful sunset. This picture was from the Ponce De Leon Historical Park in Punta Gorda, Florida on a warm evening during the Thanksgiving holiday. Due to the lack of a good breeze, I ended up with numerous bites from No-See-Ums while on the shoreline... but I had a great time!

Caspersen Beach with its rock formations embedded in the sand is beautiful and uniquely set apart from most of the other beaches along the Gulf Coast of Florida. As Chrissy and I walked back towards our car after spending several hours on the beach, the sun began to set... changing the mood and beauty of the scenery. Several people were still wading in the water as they hunted for sharks teeth.
Caspersen Beach is situated on the Gulf of Mexico in Venice, Florida. It is a secluded beach--away from crowds and the bustling residential areas. It is also a shark tooth hunter's paridise. When we arrived at the beach; there were at least a dozen people wading in the water and using sand sifters to search for the little black teeth. The combination of the waves crashing on the shore; the fact that a shark will lose about 25,000 teeth in its lifetime, and that there are an estimated 370 different species of sharks means that the teeth are in plentiful supply. (Do you suppose that the tooth fairy is working overtime here?)

This scene depicts a flock of birds flying into a beautiful sunset over Charlotte Harbor in southwestern Florida. The sunset scene was shot from the mangrove shoreline inthe Ponce De Leon Historical Park in Punta Gorda. It is another one of my composite creations using the cranes flying in formation to complete the scene.
