A very common species and invasive which means sometimes its beauty is overlooked but this should not be the case.

Upon further review this seems to be a house sparrow chick. It seems to be asking for food. It was not making a sound, just extremely still with its mouth open.

I know that in some parts of Europe, this sparrow is becoming hard to find, but in the US it is a bird that quite easy to find in large flocks. It has taken well to its adopted home. I have a large group of them in my yard year round. They do not, from what I can tell, interrupt or bother native species as has been the case in other areas. I have learned to appreciate this chunky old world sparrow.
Sé que en algunas partes de Europa, este gorrión es difícil de hallar, pero en EUA, es un ave que es fácil hallar en bandadas grandes. Se ha adaptado bien a su país adoptado.Tengo en mi patio un grupo grande todo el año. Desde mi punto de vista, no molestan las otras especies de aves que tengo como es el caso en otras áreas. He aprendido a apreciar este gorrión del viejo mundo gordito.

Always active and spunky, I've learned to appreciate this invasive species. So far they do not seem to be bothering the native species in my yard.
