Chemagne and I had a blast at our first socially distant concert. Everyone was at tables separated, and any time we interacted with staff, masks were worn. But man, what a cool night! It was Dale Watson, traditional country and honky tonk with Jim Heath, rockabilly/psychobilly of Reverend Horton Heat. There were maybe 75 people there. It was a like a personal concert just for us. The dialogue, especially Dale, was hilarious. The stories they told were funny. Dale Watson had this shtick with Lone Star beer. He had pre-recorded commercial music playing while he did this funny Lone Star beer promo. It was so funny. They both played solo and then together. They ended the night with some mandatory Merle. Man it was awesome. I have been missing live music so this was much appreciated. I know how hard it is for musicians nowadays. They are playing again tonight, July 18, and it is sold out. I kinda wish I could go to see the full bands play too.
