As most places in Beijing, at least under the Olympics, there are literally no litter in Beijing and especially not in a place like this. People like the lady are working quiet and almost invisible in the shadows and running when they have to move amongst the tourist.

I started my walk through the Forbidden City from the "wrong" side. You should start here, by the Tian’an Men Square (Norwegian: Den Himmelske Freds Plass). I came out the big gate under the picture of Mao Zedong. They say that about 50.000 people walk through the Forbidden City every day and most of them start here.
