This image shows a sign [left of center] which has been added to the photograph for "Kimball & Cooper Portrait Gallery - 347". I suspected they had taken this photograph and a Google search turned up this information:

"Kimball, Myron H.

First listed as a daguerreian in 1850-1851 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1850 he was listed on the north side of Fifth Street, two doors west of Main Street. In the 1850-1851 directory he was listed at the "National Daguerreotype Gallery" at 23 East Fourth Street, and boarded at Mrs. Gano's. Another directory listed him at 8 West Fifth Street. In 1851-1852 he was listed as a salesman. Probably the same Myron H. Kimball listed as a daguerreian in New York City, N.Y. from 1855 to 1860. In 1855-1856 he was listed at 407 Broadway. From 1857 to 1859 he was listed at 374 Broadway, and lived on Sixth Avenue. In 1859-1860 he was listed at 347 Broadway, in partnership as Kimball and Cooper (J.P.). Also possibly the same Myron H. Kimball listed as a daguerreian in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1860-1861, at 432 Chestnut Street. At the 374 Broadway address he was also in partnership as Kimball and Iles; from an imprint on the mat of a daguerreotype. Information corrected to November, 1997; © 1996, 1997 John S. Craig " [ craigcamera.com/dag/k_table.htm ]

We can deduce that this photograph shows the 300 block of Broadway looking toward the north in 1859-60.

"Clang, clang, clang went the trolley,
Ding, ding, ding went the bell,
Zing, zing, zing went my heart strings,
From the moment I saw him I fell.
Chug, chug, chug went the motor,
Bump, bump, bump went the brake,
Thump, thump, thump went my heart strings,
When he smiled I could feel the car shake.
He tipped his hat, and took a seat.
He said he hoped he hadn't stepped upon my feet.
He asked my name, I held my breath.
I couldn't speak because he scared me half to death."
