It's a fun thing trying to anticipate compositions with the x1. planning in advance the framing and focus, and then wait for a silhouette to pop up.

Sony RX100
I'm back after a small hiatus which allowed me to test the RX100 in a lot of different situations. this camera is a blast. i am getting used to the zoom (blasphemy!).
i don't know if it's surprising but i'm getting another type of result with the camera. grain, noise, rendering, everything is so different compared to my previous standards.
Most important, i feel i am simply NOT losing shots in a lot of situations where speed is mandatory to get exactly what you want. the camera is just there for you, available in a snap.
i still miss the leica menu though. i think there should be a new option on all cameras:
switch to Leica style menu?

Leica x1

i'm still getting used to the viewfinder on the x1. actually it's logically not working for close up shots since the viewfinder frames higher that the lens. meaning i gotta go back in the menu to swich the LCD screen off and on, according to wether i'm shooting with the viewfinder or not.
