chatham saw mill is one of the oldest and largest saw mills in asia. it is owned by the forest department. the mill is connected to port blair by a bridge. chatham saw mill converts huge firewood into different sizes of timber and supplies to private and government departments at a reasonable price. it also processes ornamental species which is used in the manufacture of furniture and handicraft. it remains as a store-house of timber varieties such as padauk, gurjan, marble, and satin wood.

we just had a rain during the noon time and after that the sky was awesome. as the sunset approached, the clouds started catching nice colors. the patch of water due to the rain got its share of colors too...

monsoon has just arrived in kolkata and this the best time to shoot some sunset shots. i was returning home at about 4pm and saw the sky has just started to catch colors. i drove fast, went home, picked up the camera and went to the country side. god was kind enough and had already created a canvas for me. i didn't had a tripod but still took some handheld shots and later HDRed them in photomatix.
