Hello and welcome!
My name is Luca Pierro and I’m a photographer specialised in portraiture and travel photography.

In 2010, ten years ago, I started a project called 100 self portraits.
Here’s a brief description of the project:
“Rather than relying too heavily on the visual manipulation techniques acquired through post-production editing, Pierro incorporates natural materials like flour, milk, and water on set, within the frame of the shoot.
Since we last saw Pierro, appearing through clouds of flour and covered in soapy water, he has continued his expressive works, producing more amazing shots to add to his 100 Self-Portraits project. Using a variety of elements, including new ones like wool and newspapers, the photographer immerses himself in his tightly-framed environment, translating human emotions while presenting a multitude of colors, textures, and materials.
Pierro’s intentions with these series of images, as he explained to us in the past, are to link man with mother nature. The photographer himself serves as the representation of man with all of his facial expressions, visible emotions, and composition and the elements represent the earth from which they came. Even if some of the materials are man-made, they reflect man’s interaction with nature.”

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series , considering also the global situation, I decided to make this free online photography course for anyone interested in this kind of images and creative process.

This course won’t be the standard technical photography class. If you are only interested in technical aspects about the lighting and the equipment you’ll be probably disappointed by the lectures.

Of course, there will be several modules about the camera settings and the studio set-up but the core of this program will be on yourself and your ability to convey your inner world in your self-portrait using only your imagination and a restricted number of elements such the light/shadow, the color, the composition, the texture.

There are still two spots available.
This is a totally free course.
It will require only few hours per week but all your motivation.
P.M. for info. Thanks
