The original wooden structure on the site was built under the supervision of Mr. John Mills Jackson, after whom the community of Jackson's Point is named. St. George's Memorial, a stone structure built by the sons of Susan Sibbald with hand cut stones replaced the original wooden church. It was finished on June 10, 1877.
