The original St. Anne's church was built in 1862. The cornerstone of the present church was laid in 1907, and was dedicated in 1908. The church was built in Byzantine style. It was designated as a National Historic Site by Parks Canada in 1998.

Located at 270 Gladstone Avenue at College and Dufferin, it was constructed in 1907 in Byzantine style, which reflects that of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. It is believed to be the only Byzantine style Anglican church in Canada, and it played a very important role in serving the Anglican community in western Toronto.
