13 of the Ming's emperors were buried here. Most are not even opened to the archeologists, in order to preserve the site.

Built in 1587 and is the symbolic structure of Dingling. A stele was erected on top with the inscriptions 'Great Ming' and the 'Mausoleum of Emperor Shenzong' (大明及神宗顯皇帝之靈)
