Built in the 7th year of Cong Xi (重熙七年) of the Liao Dynasty (1038) to keep the Buddhist sutras, it is the most famous example of ancient Chinese architecture. The panels and the Buddhist shrines are the only exquisite ornamental wooden work from the Liao Dynasty preserved in perfect condition.
