The ornate decorations and frescos inside Chiesa del Gesú dei Santi Ambrogio e Andrea, Genoa, captured during road trip around Tuscany and Liguria. I always struggle to get this kind of shot perfectly symmetrical, especially without a tripod, but this one came out quite well. (GIC)

This is the agricultural landscape to the south west of Turin, captured as our airplane banked sharply before its final descent. Very often, images through aircraft windows are distorted or tinted but I was quite pleased with the detail and sharpness here.

An early evening portrait of Turin, dominated by the tower of Mole Antonelliana and captured from Monte dei Cappuccini. Turin has some grand buildings and streets but is spoilt somewhat by the amount of graffiti on public structures. Being a perfectionist and to give a better impression of the city, I spent forty minutes using GIMP’s galaxy clone and heal tools to carefully remove the plethora of sprayed “artwork” adorning the walls and doors along the waterfront. Thanks for looking.

A colourful carpet of fallen leaves in Parco del Valentino, Turin, with the mock-medieval castle of Borgo in the background. Note how the 10 mm lens really comes in handy when highlighting foreground detail in a portrait. Thanks for visiting.

This is Borgo Medieval in Valentino Park, Turin. Walking through the park one evening during a visit last autumn I became fascinated by the distinctive shafts generated by the interior lights as they protruded through the battlement. After some trial and error with the camera settings, I managed to capture the scene with a series of one minute exposures, of which this was my favourite. Thanks for stopping by. (GIC)
