A large waterfall on the Cijevna River, just outside Podgarica in Montenegro. Not sure if the waterfall has an official name but the locals refer to it as "Niagara". Not as spectacular perhaps, but certainly in a wonderful, colourful setting. Thanks for viewing.

Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkans, and the mountains of Albania, captured minutes before sunset. I'd lost plenty of detail in the promontory so decided to up the blacks in that region to give it a silhouette feel. Thanks for looking.

On a recent working trip to Montenegro I took a couple of days off (well, it would be rude not to). I was stunned by the scenery and pleasantly surprised to see a late show of autumn colour. This is the view across the Bay of Kotor taken from one of the windy, mountainous roads to the south. I later learned that this is one of the most spectacular drives in Europe, and also one of the most dangerous:
