The small waterfall entering Burrator Reservoir from the west, captured late one afternoon during an exceptionally cold snap. With the low sun behind me, the resulting rainbow afforded a nice addition of colour to the icy falls.

I had a couple of hours to spare yesterday afternoon so headed off for a walk along the eastern shores of Burrator Reservoir. By the time I got there the wind had died right down and the clouds were beginning to break giving rise to some superb lighting. I decided to post this image first as it needed minimum manipulation (no cropping or rotation, just a minor tweak for contrast and a little noise removal). Thanks for looking.

Leather Tor is one of my favourite local haunts for landscape photography and is a convenient fifteen minute drive from home. On this occasion I had noticed the high cloud dispersing before sundown and headed for the summit of Sharpitor (the foreground rocks) to catch the last rays of sunlight sweeping across the moorland. I hadn’t planned this shot; rather, I was faced with this vista as I headed back to the car after photographing Sheepstor one evening a few weeks back.
