A rainbow arching over Carbis Bay, SW Cornwall, with Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance. The lens I had on the camera at the time didn’t quite capture the full spectacle, but only lasting a minute or so I had no time to change to a wider angle. Thanks for looking.

A carefully timed exposure of the advancing waves and retreating swash on Porthmeor Beach, St Ives. The light wasn't too good but I was pleased with the effects of the exposure on the water.

Staying by one of my favourite beaches in Cornwall allowed me to venture to the shore during any interesting light. Here, I tried to capture some swash motion after the sun had set and the sky had begun to turn pink. Not quite as sharp as I’d hoped but I elected not to use the tripod because of the unpredictability of the waves. Thanks for visiting.

A spectacular sunset over Porthmeor Beach, St Ives. It didn't last long and just a shame I couldn't find any more detail or interest for the foreground.

On a recent visit to Gwithian I managed to scramble across the rocky foreshore at high water to capture the breaking waves against the backdrop of Godrevy Lighthouse. An exposure of 0.8 sec, accomplished with an ND three-stopper, blurred the water slightly, and upping the aqua (turquoise) channel brought some colour to the water. Thanks for looking.
