An early autumn scene captured along the circular road around Burrator. I had to play about with the shadows and highlights sliders in Lightroom to bring out as much detail as possible. Thanks for viewing.

With misty conditions forecast over the central lakes, I headed out early from our holiday accommodation to the eastern shores of Grasmere to capture the atmospheric conditions.

A mid-winter view due south from the summit of Rippon Tor, captured at 260 mm and about ten minutes before the sun disappeared below the horizon. To give a sense of scale, the town of Ashburton, visible in the distance to the left, is about 10 km away. Thanks for looking.

(Definitely best viewed on black.) This is the view north from the summit of Mount Pilatus, Switzerland. The focal point of the picture is the small church, precariously positioned on a cliff edge and whose shadow rakes across the snow. I tried a variety of crops and decided on a panoramic image which seemed to give the best sense of scale, perspective and altitude. (A bit unseasonal - I’m just trying to vary my uploads.)

This is the view across Walkhampton Common, East Dartmoor, captured one morning through the lingering mist. I caught the attention of several sheep for a while as I fiddled around with my camera gear. Thanks for v-ewe-ing.
