The arched rock of Enys Dodnan and the cliifs near Land's End get a battering from Atlantic breakers. I used a shutter speed of 1/15 s to blur the waves slightly.

Large swell, generated by an Atlantic storm, break on the volcanic cliffs near La Hoya, Lanzarote. The cliffs here are over 30 feet (10 m) high. Unfortunately, there were no willing onlookers at this stage to provide a sense of scale but hopefully the volcanic peak in the background puts things into perspective. Note the emerging rainbow by the spray.

An Atlantic wave breaking on the jetty wall at Sennen Cove is illuminated by the evening sunlight. Much larger breaking waves are commonplace in autumn and winter.
