The Wawona Tunnel is a highway tunnel completed during 1933 in Yosemite National Park. It was bored through solid granite and carries Wawona Road through a mountain on the south side of the Merced River, At 4,233 feet (1,290 m) long it is the longest highway tunnel in California, It is located on one of the three main roads providing access to Yosemite Valley, this is the most visited section of the park.
