A look at the EXIF will reveal that this photograph was taken nearly 14 years ago. The original RAW file, at ISO 1000, was just that bit too noisy by modern standards but reprocessing it through Lightroom's AI noise reduction has really cleaned the image up. With the nights drawing in, looking forward to some more night shots in the coming months.

I print the vast bulk of my black and white photographs on Fotospeed Gloss Art Fibre, a 300 gsm paper that has a slight lustre and gives lovely deep blacks. However, more minimal long exposures such as this image from Caster-on Sea print much better on a matt paper and preferably a smooth one. Still trying to find a paper I really like though, currently using Fotospeed Matt Ultra, which is a little too lightweight.

A photograph I took some time ago but never got around to processing or printing. Most of the images from that day had no sunlight breaking through the clouds to illuminate the beach and lighthouse so my over-riding impression of the day was one of moody weather. However, the sun did break through for a while, and this was one of only two images I managed to capture. Printed at 19"x 13" on my favourite paper for black and white: Fotospeed Platinum Gloss Art Fibre 300.
