Even though I've photographed these posts at West Wittering on numerous occasions, I'm still drawn to them every time (like many others).

The blue tone used to emphasise the calmness of the location. Although behind the camera the beach is full of people walking making the most of the festive holiday.

Taken handheld in the fading light of Boxing Day with my S95.

14th November: West Wittering Beach Part 1

The weather on Saturday was one of the windiest day’s we can remember, This shot was taken with my old Canon 350D, it got totally sandblasted taking this shot, I could hardly stand up in the wind.

14th November: West Wittering Beach Part 2

Made another trip to the same beach as yesterday, this time the weather was much more favourable. Didn’t take any chances though as I still took the old Canon 350D. This is a shot of the same marker on the beach as yesterday’s

25th December: Christmas Day walk on the beach

Bit chilly with fantastic sunshine, but it brought many folks out on the beach. Hope you all had a super day ;-)

East Head on Boxing Day, a popular place for a festive family walk.

Using my little Canon S95, I was able to wade out into the incoming tide and crouch down (a little) to get this shot looking back at East Head. The freedom and relative lack of concern for holding your gear just above the water you get with a compact is truly refreshing. I would not have had my 5D2 this close to the water with my back to the incoming tide, plus I was out walking with my family and don't always want to lug around all that camera gear and a tripod.
