Ajax, son of Oileus, or Ajax the Lesser, to distinguish him from Ajax the Great, led 40 Locrian ships to Troy. He wore a linen cuirass, was an accomplished spear thrower, and was the fastest Greek after Achilles. He was generally courageous and daring, but brought infamy and the wrath of the gods on himself when he raped Cassandra in the temple of Athena as she sought refuge there.
Other famous Locrians include Patroclus, who was also a Locrian by birth, though he fought as a Myrmidon alongside Achilleus.
