I have a view. Whatever else this terrible virus and our responses may bring, I have a view, something to look at. People pass by my home, the weather and light changes. Every day of the lockdown I've givensilent thanks for my luck in having this view.

Beside the landscape, we have a grandstand seat for watching how people have behaved in the last few week. Mostly, they've been civil, courteous and respectful.

And for the rare times people haven't behaved, we've been able to watch the police be courteous, respectful and polite in reminding people of their responsibilities. I imagine it's easier to be firm from a great height.

We may not have any view to speak of behind our home, just walls and roofs, but there is a little wildlife to be seen. I spend a great deal of time and effort discouraging seagulls from nesting on my building, others are less diligent and once they've laid their eggs it's too late to disturb them.
