Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.
Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he's dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.
Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.

Yinka Shonibare's 'The British Library' An Installation of 6,000 books bound with Shonibare's signature Batik print texiles and stamped with the names of 6,000 notable first and second generation immigrants.
Shonibare's work is centred around the post-colonial world and reflects his own identity and British-Nigerian background. The Dutch Batik printed textiles he often uses have a surprising history. Originally hand-printed in Indonesia, they were brought to Europe by Dutch colonists and copied by British textile manufacturers. These cheap, machine-made textiles found a ready market in West and Central Africa where they became a part of traditional dress.

A rare early morning effort from me. The peak, centre frame, is Dow Crag with the Old Man Of Coniston to the right. You can see a bit more detail of the fells and crags in "large".
