My first attempt at video, the Singing Ringing Tree, a steel sound sculpture set on the moors high above the town of Burnley in Lancashire. The soundtrack is of the noises the sculpture makes as the wind blows around the tuned pipes.
Designed by Mike Tonkin and Anna Lui and completed in 2006, it follows a long tradition of moorland follies in the area. Many local vantage points are decorated with towers and monuments erected by Victorian industrialists. The Singing Ringing Tree is a more modern and melodic addition.
I spent an enjoyable hour here listening to its mournful dirge and taking in the views.
