I bought this frame, pretty much by accident, in June 2008 and began the task of building it up from scratch. I didn't know what it was when I bought it, neither did the guy who sold it to me but after much research I'm much more informed now. I finished getting it roadworthy on July 31 with a rebuild of the integrated headset. Mr. Rollers, Will Campbell and Sean Higgins all helped out in one phase or another of this build, and the guys at Orange 20 helped tons. In my one day of riding it, I'm in love. It's the first steel bike I've ridden and wow, it feels crazy different than the aluminum I'm used to. It's geared to 46x16 and I'll probably be using this as my primary ride for a while to get the feel for it. Really loving it so far.

I got this bike in 2000 after my other Kona was stolen. I rode it back and forth to work for about 6 months, and then it sat for about 5 years. When I started riding it again I realized I wasn't riding offroad at all anymore and kept adjusting things to make it more roadbike like. The knobby tires were the first thing to go. I "retired" it from primary use in summer 2007 when I bought a single speed Swobo Sanchez which was kind of a major turning point in my bike obsession. Since then this has served as a guest bike and minor utility use. I may put the knobbys back on it at some point, who knows.

My next project, a mid 80's Benotto road bike. I'll be building this thing up with gears for sure. I momentarily toyed with the idea of stripping off the messed up paint and getting it powder coated first, but have since decided to keep the messy theme going with it which means I'll probably plaster it with stickers as well.

This the Swobo Sanchez I bought in the summer of 2007, the only stock pieces left on it are the wheels and fork, as I've replaced every other bit and piece since then with massively upgraded stuff. I rode this bike as a single speed for about 3 months before switching to fixed gear and I've never looked back. Currently it's geared to 44x15 and I love it. This is probably my favorite bike I've ever owned and I'm more comfortable on it than anything I've ever ridden and I've been commuting on it almost daily since Jan 2008. It's awesome.
