A look at the uniquely painted arches within the Zimmerman Covered Bridge in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The bridge is 50 foot long and spans Swatara Creek. The bridge was constructed in the 1870s and restored in the late 1990s. The bridge was fully rehabilitated in 2023, and that's when the unique white paint was applied to the Burr arches inside the bridge. Schuylkill County had fifty-one Covered Bridges at one point, but only Zimmerman and Rock bridges remain today. The bridge was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1978.
