I am blessed in my job. Days like these are sometimes hard to fathom and even quantify. Hours of driving to client in Somerset to hang 10 printed frames in their home. They look amazing and really makes me feel like I am doing something worthwhile to see my client’s own images they have made over the last year with me hung in their home.

A dash back to meet other clients for an evening workshop at a local spot and whilst there wasn't the iconic sunset that people booking workshops hope for, the variable light more than made up for it and as I said at the time it is a better lesson on photography than a sky full of rich saturated colour. You be the judge! For me I am simply happy to be out again with people who appreciate what we do together.

The morning 7th of February I woke up to see Amsterdam covered in a coat of fresh snow. The snow fell in sudden flurries and gusts and turned the world white and wonderful. With the canals in the city and occasional high winds, there can be a nip in the air, but packing gloves and a scarf should keep you warm enough. There is something very beautiful about Amsterdam in the winter. It snowed for the second time this winter in Amsterdam. Because the temperature was -4 degrees Celsius the snow stayed. The real feel temperature was -11 degrees Celsius cause there was a strong wind and drifting snow. It got more than a few centimeters of snow. The best advice is to stay indoors and turn the stove up a bit. Or of course to go outside to take some nice pictures. The snow is a rare highlight in these February dark days, especially when you have small children. It is quite difficult to come up with something fun in these Covid-19 lock-down days. After a while, sitting indoors becomes quite monotonous for such a toddler. This is a welcome change. The snow also provides a lot of fun for children here in centre of Amsterdam. Snowball fight, make snowmen or go sledding. All fun activities that children do in this beautiful snowy world.

Since the first snow had stuck to the ground, the neighborhood has turned out for a carefree winter entertainment. The next days it will keep on snowing. Expected more than 17 cm snow in Amsterdam. Enjoy a thick layer of snow in your own neighborhood. One of the most picture perfect spots in Amsterdam. Walk along the Staalstraat -between the City hall and the Kloverniersburgwal- and you’ll cross a drawbridge over the Groenburgwal canal. Stop on the bridge and capture the serenity of the tree-lined canal against the backdrop of the Zuiderkerk - Southern church. Photo of the picturesque and much photographed Raamgracht and Groenburgwal, in the very heart of the city, yet very quiet..

Sneeuwballengevecht, sneeuwpoppen maken of sleetje rijden.
