There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that she added a fake beauty mark because she wanted to look like Marilyn Monroe. If she wanted to look like Marilyn, she would have bleached her feathers blond, like my friend Maureen's Coot did. Cindy Crawford, maybe, but definitely not Marilyn Monroe.

I'm frustrated because I can't figure out what these are, even though they appear to be very common. These were growing in the path that they cut out of the cattails and there were more in the demonstration garden next to the visitors' center, but there was no sign for them, even though there were signs for most of the other plants.

Thanks for the help, Maureclaire! I think this probably is a Western Goldenrod. At least, that's the name I'm going with.
