Don't ask me! I'm trying to cut down. Guess you'll have to settle for a cricket or something.

It was a thrill to see this guy, yesterday, because it was my first time and because he is so brilliant. He might be new to the aviary, but he was pretty shy and might have just been hiding on my previous visits. There was no sign giving his species, so it was a challenge to find it out, but it was satisfying once I did.
Wishing you all a cheerful Sunday!

What a Drama Queen! It really wasn't that cold. I was comfortable in short sleeves. I wonder if that's a heating pad that he's standing on. He leads a pretty cushy life, if it is.
Update from my secret source: "He's standing on an irrigation valve box cover. That's probably why he is fluffed up. Those things retain the cold more than the soil does."
He's dumber than I thought - the dove, that is, not my secret source.
